YEREVAN SPEAKING

Hay Hamerg Project

The concert show program featured a selection of remarkable songs from the 1940s through the 1970s, representing an important layer of Armenia’s rich and extensive musical and cultural heritage. These beloved songs were given a new sound through fresh arrangements and a contemporary approach to performance by the Hay Hamerg Project.

Accompanied by the live sound of an orchestra and dynamic choreographed performances, the concert became a true celebration of song, bringing together the old and the new, retro and modern. The program also offered a unique opportunity to rediscover, revive, and reinterpret beautiful, highly melodic songs written during that era, many of them featuring poetic lyrics. With their distinctively Armenian musical language, these songs serve as a connecting thread between generations.

The repertoire included both well-known and beloved songs performed by celebrated singers of the time, as well as lesser-known yet equally melodic and beautiful works. This project is their revival—a new life and a new interpretation for a new generation.
